Lembang, Padalarang, and Ciwidey all provide lovely scenery. Pangalengan in southeastern Bandung is no exception. The town of Pangalengan is popular for its tea and dairy farming industries but the tourism sector grows exponentially here in the last few years.

Pangalengan has amazing destinations like waterfalls, lakes, tea plantation, rivers, and hot springs. Here are some places you need to visit in Pangalengan.

Situ Cileunca

Situ Cileunca (Lake Cileunca) is located in Pulosari Village, about 1500 meters above sea level. You can easily drive here as the access is extremely easy. This lake is an important water reservoir as well as hydroelectricity provider.

There are several ways you can enjoy this lake. You can walk on the bridge named Love Bridge or rent a boat to explore all sides of this lake. Alternatively, many people just picnicking at the shore of the lake while enjoying the panorama.

Malabar Tea Estate

Malabar tea Estate is a tea plantation that was opened during the colonial era. For a very long time, this estate was managed by KAR Bosscha who was the most important person to develop the tea industry here. Malabar has a lovely view, especially during sunrises.

So, the best time to visit this plantation is early in the morning. You can even stay in the villas in the middle of this sea of tea, offering a very peaceful holiday in a location with a breathtaking view.

Curug Panganten

In Sundanese Language, Curug Panganten means Brides Waterfalls. The name comes from the fact that there are two streams of waterfalls, dropping down harmoniously and eternally like a bride and a groom. Even though this waterfall is located in the middle of a lush green rainforest, the access is quite easy. The water is clean and refreshing. Interestingly, there are several Curug Panganten located near Bandung, and this is just one of them.

Cibolang Hot Spring

Located on a mountainous area, Pangalengan obviously has cool climate, sometimes even cold. Hot springs can be mana from heaven in the cold embrace of the mountain. If you are in Pangalengan area, Cibolang Hot Spring is the perfect place to relax. Like many volcanic hot springs, Cibolang waters are rich in minerals, especially sulfur. Locals believe that bathing here can cure several ailments.

Still in Pangalengan, you can try rafting in Palayangan River, in the downstream of Situ Cileunca. The route is, in fact, starts from Cileunca Lake and finish at Rahong Pine Forest. Palayangan River offers various level of rafting challenges, suitable for beginners as well as experienced rafters. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful scenery such as pine forest, vegetable fields, or tea plantation.
