Despite its accessibility and proximity to Bali, Lombok still has many mysteries and hidden place to visit. Everyone already knows about the beautiful Gili Islands, majestic Rinjani, or the lovely Mandalika. However, Lombok still has much more to offer for those who are not afraid to wander.

From hidden caves, waterfalls, to beaches, Lombok still has a lot of uncharted tourism map to explore. Here are some of the best hidden gems of Lombok tourism you can visit.

Hidden Pools in Mangku Sakti Waterfall

Mangku Sakti waterfall is actually a quite big waterfall with a lovely pond. However, the most interesting part is probably the hidden pools along its canyon. There are several pools, completely hidden by large granite stones. Swimming here gives an impression as if you are being on a surreal painting because of the unearthly canyon.

Semeti is a rough and rocky beach in Pujut, Central Lombok. The shapes of rock formations here look a little bit like crystals in Krypton Planet, the home of Superman. That’s why many people also call it Krypton Beach.

There are also several pyramids on top of the waters, making it even more otherworldly.  You can swim in the waters when it is calm.

To summarize, Aik Nyet Sesaot Park is a bath located in the middle of a protected reserve forest. You will have to walk through a rainforest trek to reach the pond and the shower. For those who love trekking, you can continue exploring the forest and bathe in more secluded spots. You can also camp here, of course with a license from the park ranger.

Bangkang Cave

Located at Bangkang Village, Pujut, Central Lombok, this cave is the natural habitat of local bats. To enter this cave, you need to take a flight of stairs made from woods and bamboo. This place can be a bit messy with bats’ droppings o be careful.

The main attraction here is the heavenly light that comes from an opening on a part of the cave’s roof. This place looks a little bit like Jomblang Cave in Jogja. During the dusk, you can see the spectacular view when thousands of bats flying out of the cave.

Benang Kelambu Waterfall

The literal meaning of this place is ‘curtain thread’. It got its name from the shape of the drop which looks like a white drape on a wall of green foliage. The water drops in two places, creating an impression of thin fabric.

Even when seeing from a higher place, you might not see the stream that feeds this waterfall. There are several ponds and showers created under this waterfall.
