Lombok is a lovely place, you can find beautiful places almost in every part of the island. Lombok has highly interesting and unique natural spots like the Pink Beach, The Gilis, or the crater lake of Segara Anak. Lombok is also rich in culture and its unique craft.
There are also many beautiful waterfalls, especially around Mount Rinjani. In every part of the slope of Rinjani, you can find wonderful drops that mostly are not yet fully developed into a great tourist destination. That means that most of the waterfalls here are still in its pristine condition, with minimum development, if any.
Benang Stokel is not only a waterfall but is a collection of three waterfalls in one area. Benang Stokel is located in a niche in which walls are overgrown by various kinds of green vines. The three waterfalls flowed into a very shallow pond. You will not be able to swim here, but the good thing is that this pool is safe for even small children.
From Benang Stokel, you can continue trekking to find some small waterfalls until you find the Benang Kelambu Waterfall. In this waterfall area, you will find a cliff overgrown by various green vines. This green wall hides a thin stream of thin white water that, at first glance, looks like a mosquito net.
This waterfall has two tiers, each tier looks as if the water fell from the green vines. Just below this waterfall, there is a man-made pond that is often used by tourists to refresh themselves.
The trekking route to reach these two waterfalls is located in Aik Berik Village, Batukliang Utara District, Central Lombok Regency. This place is about 30 km from the city of Mataram and Lombok’s international airport.
Accessing this village is quite easy, especially if you are driving a private or rented vehicle. Trekking route that leads you to the two waterfalls is also quite light, even though it could be slippery in some places.
Make sure you wear sandals or shoes that have a strong grip because of the many slippery tracks that you will go through. If you come during the rainy season, make sure you bring a raincoat. Ensure that your camera is protected from splashing waterfalls. It is recommended that you leave the waterfall area before dark because the trek will be dangerous without adequate lighting.
