Devil’s Tear
Devil’s Tear is the name of the beach located on the south coast of Nusa Lembongan. This beach has tide pools with a lovely panorama of the blue ocean. If you are an adrenaline junkie, there is even a spot for cliff jump among its rugged limestone. This beach is especially spectacular during sunsets. You can get here by riding a motorbike from the main strip of Nusa Lembongan.
Dream Beach
This beach is a short 115 meters strip of white sandy beach on the western coast of Nusa Lembongan. Compared to other beaches in the area, Dream Beach is quite secluded and not as crowded with tourists. It’s not just the white sand and relaxing adventure, you can also climb the surrounding cliffs to get a birds-eye view of the whole area. There are two resorts overlooking this beach and both offer fantastic services.
Gala-gala Underground House
Gala-gala underground House is actually a man-made cave located in the southern part of Nusa Lembongan. This house features a labyrinth connecting subterranean chambers. The house was built by Made Byasa whose occupation was a dancer, farmer, and Mangku Dalang (shadow puppet performer). His inspiration to build this house came from an episode of Mahabharata Epic when the Pandawa brothers were exiled for twelve years.
Jungut Batu
Jungut Batu is the name of a village and its coast in the northwestern part of Lembongan Island. This is one of the main beachfront of Lembongan and it has a unique view of Bali Island and its majestic Mount Agung. This beach is where most of the hotels, restaurants, and other amenities are located. There are two great surf breaks in the vicinity; Shipwrecks and Lacerations. This beach also has a beautiful sunset with a background of mainland Bali.
Mushroom Bay
A small stretch of a white sandy beach, surrounded by many resorts and restaurants. This is one of the main entry points to the island. During the day, this cove can be crowded with boats transporting tourists from mainland Bali. When the boats returns, this bay can feel secluded and you can enjoy it peacefully in the afternoon. If you want to stay overnight, there are lots of bungalow-style accommodation in this area.
Seaweed Farm
Apart from fishing and tourism, the Islanders’ main industry is seaweed farming. The farms are scattered all around the island but the most accessible one is located on the Lembongan Village. Seaweed produced here is mainly sold for the cosmetic industry although some might go to the food industry. The harvested seaweed is usually being sundried on the shore. You might even have fresh seaweed in your salad too if you like it.
Nusa Lembongan is definitely a must-visit place if you are in Bali. It’s pretty close to the mainland Bali, with only half an hour ferry ride from mainland Bali, Nusa Lembongan can offer an almost similar experience to Bali, only with a much less crowded area. Next
