However, you don’t necessarily have to leave the city of Bandung to enjoy some of those beauties. You just need to go to Tebing Keraton, a lovely cliff located at the outskirt of Bandung. Here are what you need to know about this cliff.
The Cliff
Tebing Keraton is a narrow cliff overlooking a valley and several hills. The lush green valley to the north and the panorama of Bandung city on the right (south). Essentially, this is a great platform with a magnificent and extremely Instagenic view. The platform is fenced for safety, but there are many visitors who jumped over and take a picture on the rocky notches of the cliff.
Location
Tebing Keraton is accessible from Bandung via Dago Pakar, the north part of the city. It is actually a part of Ir. H. Djuanda Nature Preserve and Botanical Garden (Tahura). The road leading to Tebing Keraton is quite challenging as there are many sharp turns and steep uphill slopes.
You can drive your car here, but it is advisable to ride a motorcycle instead as at some parts, the road are narrow and won’t be enough for two cars. Also make sure that your vehicle is in a great condition because some of the slope will test your ride to its limit. With careful ride from Bandung, you only need 15 minutes to reach this site anyway.

According to the information provided by the management, the official name for this cliff is Tebing Karaton, meaning a cliff with magnificent view in Sundanese. However, people mostly just call it Tebing Keraton as it is somehow easier to remember. Aside from that, this cliff is also known with many names such as: Tebing Instagram, Tebing Mainstream, Tebing Hits, and several others.
History and popularity
According to the information, a man called Asep initiated the development of this cliff because he saw the beauty of the place and had realized the potential that it has. At first, this cliff is only popular among cyclists.
But starting from 2014, this place rose to fame after people started posting its beauty on Instagram. The rest is history as Tebing Keraton has become one of the most popular destination in Bandung.
Tebing Keraton is a ‘light’ destination, a great place to visit when you are in Bandung. It is accessible, quite near the city, and also affordable destination with huge photographic potential. If you are big into social media, this is a must-visit destination.
